The unique aspect of the test is that for every incorrect answer, the test adapts and increases in difficulty, and vice versa. The Duolingo English Test not only aids in academic studies but also enhances prospects of securing desirable employment opportunities abroad. There was once a time when IELTS was considered the only standardized test several universities now have even mollified the need to have IELTS  Duolingo also led to the increased importance.

  1. Online Format: The Duolingo Test is taken entirely online, allowing test takers to complete it from the comfort of their own homes using a computer with a webcam and microphone.

The fee for the Duolingo English Test (DET) was $49 USD. However, please note that pricing and fees are subject to change over time. It’s advisable to visit the official Duolingo English Test website (englishtest.duolingo.com) or contact Duolingo directly for the most up-to-date information regarding the fees associated with taking the Duolingo English Test. When you compare Duolingo to other leading tests like IELTS and TOEFL, you will find that Duolingo is way cheaper than them. You need to spend only around INR 4032.55 for the Duolingo test fee. The Duolingo test fee in India is about INR 10,000 less than the other tests and no scholarship available for Duolingo.

Duolingo Cancellation Fee

If the candidate does not take the test within 21 days of registration, the test automatically gets cancelled. In such a case, no refund will be provided. At the same time, if you face any technical error during your test and cannot complete the test, you can contact Duolingo’s customer service and get a refund.

Can I Rescheduling Duolingo Fee?

  •  Though there is no limit on the number of times you can take the test, you can attend the test only twice within 21 days.
  • After registering for Duolingo, you can take the test within 21 days.
  • If you cannot attend the test on a particular day, you can reschedule it to another day, which should be within 21 days of registration. You need not pay an extra fee for that.

Who Accepts The Duolingo Test?

The acceptance of the Duolingo English Test (DET) varies among institutions and organizations. Many universities and colleges worldwide accept the Duolingo Test as a measure of English proficiency for admissions purposes. However, it’s essential to note that acceptance policies can vary, and some institutions may have specific requirements or preferred English proficiency tests.

As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, some universities in the United States that accepted the Duolingo Test included Yale University, Columbia University, and the University of California system. Additionally, several Canadian universities, such as McGill University and the University of British Columbia, accepted the Duolingo Test. The Duolingo test is accepted by almost all universities abroad, students who wish to take Duolingo over TOEFL/IELTS, all  universities/colleges  accept  Duolingo for example  USA, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
